iPhone Theft : Nigerians Dig Out The Past About Tunde Ednut

Instagram went agog on Saturday, 17 June, after popular blogger Mr Tunde Ednut posted published a post on his social media platform, which was purportedly aimed at shaming fraudulent persons; mainly referred to in Nigeria as Yahoo boys.

The blogger published the post which reads “ Welcome to this world where you go see men depressed, because dem nor see another person (Maga) money thief”. Maga is a Nigerian slang used to describe victims of internet fraudsters.

Within few hours of publishing the post, hundreds of his followers dug out his past and expressed their outrage over the post in the comment section. Many of his followers accused him of throwing shades to “yahoo boys” because he was once one of them but failed to make money off the scheme.

Others accused him of being a beneficiary of a marriage by convenience in the United States.

In the heat of the outrage, his followers dug out a publication made by a famous journalist Dr. Pharm. Kemi Olulonyo, where she alleged Mr Tunde Ednut was deported from the United Kingdom for theft. The journalist alleged Mr Tunde stole an iPhone from a black-dominated area; Peckham. He was later caught, served a short term and was deported; since he was an illegal immigrant in the UK. Thereafter he found his way from Nigeria to the United States, where he stayed an illegal immigrant for sometime, before getting into a marriage of  convenience to regularise his stay.
